About MUSD
Vision: Every student works to achieve grade level standards, feels safe and is supported to realize individual success.
Mission: Through smart actions and decisions, MUSD will work together using meaningful, measurable and aligned data for all students to achieve mastery of grade level standards in all subjects based on their unique educational pathway in a safe environment inclusive of design, security and climate.

East Union High School’s JROTC Academic Team has earned a spot at the 2026 JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) in Washington, D.C., placing the Lancers among the top 32 academic teams in the nation, and one of just three high schools representing California.

Sierra High School has been named a 2026 California Distinguished School, one of the state’s highest honors recognizing academic achievement, student growth, and a strong school culture.

Manteca High School has once again been recognized as a California Distinguished School for the 2025–2026 year, marking its second time earning the honor in three years. The recognition highlights the school’s strong academic performance and success in closing achievement gaps, especially through its support of English Learners.

Walter Woodward Elementary students and staff wore pink on February 26 to promote kindness, inclusion, and bullying prevention during Pink Shirt Day. Fifth grader Skylee Valiante helped bring the initiative to campus after researching the movement and presenting a proposal to school leadership. The day included social-emotional learning activities that encouraged students to be “Upstanders” and spread kindness across campus.

At the 45th Annual San Joaquin County Academic Decathlon, four of Manteca Unified’s comprehensive high schools — Sierra High, Lathrop High, Manteca High, and Weston Ranch High — delivered an impressive showing, earning top finishes, individual championships, and medals across all divisions.
